Bus drivers

Consolid is always on the lookout for experienced bus drivers who are eager to get behind the wheel. Consolid welcomes applications from independent drivers who enjoy the customer-service aspect of their profession and who have proved that they are able to take responsibility for their passengers, the bus and their fellow road-users.
Consolid works for all of the transport companies in the Netherlands. This includes large companies such as Connexxion (Transdev), Arriva, Veolia Transport but also the major public transport companies in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht.

We are always able to provide our drivers with sufficient work. Despite considerable efforts to train up new drivers, there is a shortage of bus drivers in the Netherlands. This is due to the expansion of the transport system, as well as the high average age amongst bus drivers in the Netherlands. Many take retirement each year.

Projects regularly arise in which it is possible to deploy non-Dutch speaking drivers. These include events, the major expansion of urban transport systems, the temporary replacement of rail transport services with bus transport services and the provision of additional transport for commuters during motorway reconstruction. For these projects, Consolid also supplies its clients with non-Dutch speaking bus drivers who speak English or German. These types of projects always have clear start and end dates.

Basic profile

• You must be at least 21 years of age (legal requirement)
• You must hold a ‘D’ type driver’s licence (bus licence)
• You must be between 1.65m and 1.90m in height
• You must have good eyesight
